We have covered quite a bit!! Haven’t we? In the last few topics, we gained a real insight into what the subconscious is and how it controls us. This by itself is so liberating and makes us feel so much in control of ourselves, is it not?
Well, in this section, I am going to tell you all something that’s going to make u all very happy indeed! It goes against what you have generally heard and Best of all! This method is far easier and more joyous. What exactly is it??
How many times as a child we were told? “You must have will power to do this and to do that etc etc.!!” A common eg! STUDIES!! God!! How many of us hate it? So boring! So tedious, not to mention the peer pressure that comes along with it!!
The thing is that whenever u force your self, the message is you are asked to hurt your self and you’re told, meaning,unless you hurt your self, you cannot proceed. This isn’t correct!! And Sure!! You can get results this way, but honestly, life is meant to be enjoyed in all its glory.
A very famous mind power expert has opined “ Will power has it’s own place!! In terms of emergencies like a fire in a building, when a loved one is in great duress, we exercise will power, for sudden bursts of energy to help us do things we may not be normally capable of!! But iron jawed determination exercised for a long time has a deleterious effect on our bodies. There is a gentler and an easier way.”
What is that!! Imagination!! Emotion is the language of the subconscious and our subconscious is the one that controls our behavior. So now what are the TWO steps we take??
1) First contemplate deeply on what it is that u want to achieve? Why do you want to achieve it? This WHY is critical. When the WHY is strong enough the HOW will be made known, and yes!! Be sure that the WHY is your WHY!! And not somebody else’s!
2) Learn to bask in the glory of how it would feel when you have achieved your goal. Sit down quietly in a corner and let a movie run inside your head creating a scene of how things would be when you are successful.
WARNING!! This is not some cheesy and corny philosophy! World class athletes use it on a regular basis. I shall get into great detail into it in the next issue!! Till then
